a great energy efficient step light

Bought this to replace an old step light that used a 40W incandescent bulb behind a louvered plate. This unit uses 2.5W but actually puts out more light than the old unit. Housing is good quality die-casting and light module looks rugged too. If I had to find a fault, it is just that the color of the light is not as 'warm' as I would prefer, even though I purchased the "Warm White" model. It is not bad, just a bit more blue/green than I would prefer. I'd still buy it again none-the-less.
Although Lighting Universe had the best price around, I do think the unit is a bit expensive, but then again, many lighting products are.

I'm not fully understanding LED wiring requirements. This unit (National Specialty LEDRL Reflective Stair Light) looks like it's just direct hard wire to a 110 switch, so not needing separate transformer? A:This item is a 120V. There would be no transformer required, it would be hard wired. As for the lighting of steps, there is not a way to tell you how many they light. The lighting brightness is at your discretion. If you want them super bright I would use one every stair and adjust from there.
